Being a fig tree...
Sunday... After yesterday, it's hard to "get back to business as usual".
Just a few thoughts (Walsingham):
*Thirst:
We need Christ every day as well as pure water...
It would be good for me to keep this in mind in the mornings. I'm looking for excuses, even though I could go to the Mass...
Who else could fill the feeling of emptiness within us, the desire for love?...
* The Church as a mother:
Just as a mother protected and carried us under her heart for 9 months, so too do we have a mission to protect and carry each other in the Church, in the community. Not just each other, anyone who shows themselves open to accepting the gospel... (to accommodate).
The two are closely related. Without Christ, we cannot be open- minded...
Zakeus... Today's gospel. He is a stigmatized, excluded man. No one talked to him because they knew who he is..."public sinner."
The time has come... He wondered who was Jesus they were talking so much about?
Yet there was no one to show him...
He was a rich man. He had social status, existence... What did he do? He climbed a tree, there's nothing further down than that!
It didn't matter. He wanted to meet Jesus. Not to meet, just to see...
Jesus stopped under the tree. He could have gone further..., but he didnt. He was the One who Zakeus was waiting for...
People have a hunger for love. They feel the emptiness that they try to "fill" with everything.
Can we being enough brave to be fig trees, to help others too may see Jesus? Do we uplift or exclude those around us?...

* Szomjúság:
Mindennap szükségünk van Krisztusra éppúgy mint a tiszta vízre...
Jó lenne ezt észben tartanom reggelenként, mikor a Szentmisével kapcsolatban nyűglődöm. Keresem a kifogásokat, pedig lenne lehetőségem menni...
Ki más tudná betölteni a bennünk lévő üresség érzést, szeretetvágyat?...
* Az Egyház,mint édesanya:
Ahogy egy édesanyánk 9 hónapig óvott és hordozott minket a szíve alatt, épp úgy nekünk is küldetésünk, hogy óvjuk és hordozzuk egymást az Egyházban, a közösségben. Nem csak egymást, bárkit aki nyitottnak mutatkozik az evangélium elfogadására...(befogadására).
A kettő szorosan összefügg. Krisztus nélkül nem vagyunk képesek nyitottak lenni...
Zakeus... a mai evangélium. Megbélyegzett, kirekesztett ember. Nem állnak vele szóba, hisz tudják, kicsoda..."nyilvános bűnös".
Eljött az idő... Kiváncsi volt, ki az a Jézus, akiről annyit beszélnek? Mégse volt senki, aki megmutassa neki...
Gazdag ember volt. Volt társadalmi státusza, egzisztenciája...Mit csinált? Fára mászott, ennél már nincs lejebb!
Nem számított. Találkozni akart Jézussal. Nem találkozni, csak látni...
Jézus megállt. Tovább mehetett volna...Ő volt az a Valaki, akire Zakeus várt...
Az emberekben ott a szeretetéhség, az üresség, amit megpróbálnak mindenfélével "betölteni".
Tudunk-e, merünk-e fügefák lenni, hogy ők is megláthassák Jézust? Felemeljük vagy kirekesztjük a körülöttünk lévőket?...
